Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band are a true soul phenomenon. Without ever having had a number one single, Geno had two of the biggest selling U.K. albums of the sixties. Amazingly both of these were live albums. ‘Hand Clappin’ Foot Stompin’ Funky Butt Live, for example, was in the U.K. album charts for 48 out of 52 weeks in 1966. Incredibly, only ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ sold more copies in the UK that year…A fact that is a clear testament to Geno’s awesome ability as a live performer.

In 1980 Geno!  Was a Number 1 hit in the UK for Dexy’s Midnight Runners. Vocalist Kevin Roland, spoke of the cult sixties soul performer who ravaged club-land to the chants of “Geno! Geno! Geno!

Today, Geno Washington and His Ram Jam Band are as vital as ever when it comes to rocking the house. The ultimate showman and his super-tight band will fill any dance floor from the moment he steps upon it and keep it heaving into the early hours.
